Yep, I made the same mistake, sent it via 212 instead of 213. I should have checked the timetable more closely.

Oh dear. This is shameful.
I’ve been playing this game for nearly 21.5 hours (sim time) and have only just noticed that you need to phone for permission to send a train into Arpley Sidings (AJ45)

What a dip stick 🙄

I always make a mess of that because I set the route when receiving the call, but as you can't request permission until the train is in the sim you get a very brief window before it appears and merrily makes its was to the AJ45 entry/exit! I now wait before calling as inevitably something distracts me as I wait
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Yes, I tend to set the route, make the call and enter the details then wait for the train to enter the SIM before hitting the return key.

Finally got to the finish but I'm rather disappointed with my score which is 85% With the settings that I input at the very beginning (See screenshot), I should have done better.
I've made numerous mistakes but at least (hopefully) I have learnt from them. Something that I have learnt is that clicking on a train's TD to see the tt before it actually enters the sim brings up an incorrect timetable and I initially used this to set an incorrect route.

I'm now going to chance my arm by adjusting the Failure settings to make life a bit more difficult.
Let's see what happens this time.

This problem I have always thought is worth fixing. When you get a call for a train to enter, and you interpose it or put it on a sticky , you get whatever timetable it randomly thinks it is , either the previous LE or some other random timetable, as it has not yet entered ( this fixes itself when it actually DOES enter the sim)

Right. I've just started a new 1992 game and these are the settings that I have used (screenshot).

They may not be challenging for some people, but let's see what I make of things.

Brave man, personally I don't have any faults & or failures on when I'm running a TT I've written. It's challenging enough without making it a sight harder by having failures on to keep everything to time.

I'll let you know how things are progressing when and if I get as far as, say, 06:00. 😀

For comparison (and I know this isn't a Motherwell TT thread), I'm currently playing Motherwell 1984 (full version) with the track circuit failure slider at 50%, train delay probability at 75%, train delay amount at 60%, failure time length at around 75%, and minimum failure time also at 75%. I've got points and signal failures set at zero, although I occasionally turn points failures on every now and then throughout the game, just for a laugh. Oh, and max simultaneous failures at 4 :-)

Oh, and I started the game in "Difficult" mode, so Carstairs has a platform out of action, and various other problems will pop up, especially damage to overhead wires, resulting in traction isolations between Law Junction and Motherwell.

I may do the same when doing my next run-through of this timetable, as it might throw up some interesting problems :-)

Finally got bit of time while nursing a cold in the process, Upto 4pm on a Wednesday and with 2 restarts after getting myself into a right pickle!. Note to myself read the timetable instead of presuming!. Everything seems to be running ok I've maintained a score of 90% which is pretty good if you ask, considering all the mess ups I have done. Looking forward to resuming the rest of the timetable at the weekend. That depending on how I feel and the 6 trips to hospital in Salford.

One thought if you want to make it more 'interesting'... did you include the randomly occasional BDVs off to an assignation at Arpley?

No 1Z99 in this TT I'm afraid, & no doubt at this time they'd probably use the BRUFF as opposed to the Heavy Duty Breakdown Crane. I do have the breakdown Crane in my Doncaster summer 1991 TT with a choice of approx. 6 places it could run to, but IIRC only has a 20% chance of appearing.

If Belmont were owt like the Brent it'd have been 19% Belmont and 1% spread across the other five places :-))

I think the rule highlighted in the attached screenshot might be wrong.

I think B4TTHO should be B2TTHO.

Great TT btw.

In Post #155925 (2nd April 2024) I posted a screenshot of the Failure Settings that I had set for my new game.
Today I continued my game at 05:20 sim time.

It struck me that I hadn’t had any Failures for some considerable time, so I had a quick look at the settings. To my amazement, they were all set back to zero.
I looked back at various saved games and found that a manual save at 02:02:34 had the correct settings but in the next auto save at 02:10:00 all of the settings had reverted to Zero.

How is this possible?

I have attached the 02.02.34 manual save.

Changes them out for new ones. I had the same thought until I studied the moves a bit. Parks the new ones on one of the non-TC roads, loco goes and collects the others, parks them on the other adjacent road. Then shunts the new ones into the motorail sidings
