6M31 has entered at the Up Kirkstall Loop 6 early, presumably on the loop to allow another train to pass on the main line. Having had quite a few early freights to and from the Shipley direction to hold between Armley and Whitehall West junctions and finally got the lines clear I really wanted to keep the Shipley Main lines free as the busy evening peak loomed large. Keep 6M31 in the loop until it's on time, I muttered! I even tried a somewhat hopeful "BLOK" on 3892 at Armley Junction but my electronic colleague controlling Kirkstall Loops just sent the freight on regardless. Grr! Oh well, it's only six minutes that the Up Shipley Main will be occupied for I suppose! I would rather like to be able to have a bit more control over the lines to and from Apperley Junction, especially the entry to the Up Kirkstall Loop, maybe even all the way to Apperley Junction itself. Could there be plans to extend the sim north-west towards Shipley and Ilkley...? Signalman Exeter West & Llangollen Log in to reply |

I too find the fringe regulation to be somewhat frustrating. It's easy to suddenly have 2 or 3 freights running half an hour early with no where to "put them inside" leaving you no option to run them and delay other services.

It happened again with 6J53 entering on the UKPL well early and he was sent on right in front of 2V53. ARS wanted to hold the freight at Armley to cap it all, to let another class 2 cross from DHA to DSM. Needless say I wanted the freight moved sharpish along USM where it would be less of a problem. In real life I'm quite sure the bobby in York would keep him in the loop at Kirkstall.

The bobby at York (could be me) may keep the train for time in the loop or may not, depending what else is about on the LNW workstation, as Kirkstall is the only place to regulate/dyke trains out the way on this workstation. But we would normally advise Leeds West the train is coming early enough for them to place reminders/regulate accordingly. Occasionally though trains just get the road and away they go. ARS treats an early running train as a late train, as it can not distinguish between -12 mins (early) and +12 mins (late) and therfore thinks the train running 12 early is actually 12 late

I have a problem on the same route, but in the opposite direction. I have 2C48, 2C50, 2C52, 2C54 stopped at successive fringe signals D4, D3, D2 and D1 and they don't want to move on. Only 2C54 is still showing as an occupied TC, but its in the fringe but all are still in the train list (F2). Any suggestions, please? Ah. Caused by 2C68 which had finished duties at Horsforth and not moved into a lie by or run on elsewhere ECS. It's a wtt error, it seems. Last edited: 05/01/2016 at 20:28 by John 23 Log in to reply |

I think that issue may have been fixed now; it didn't happen in my last run through with the latest version of Leeds.
