EdinburghThe line between ES975 and ES686 is permissive from ES972 and ES974; use of the track circuit override is required.
ES694 is provided for trains terminating at Kingsknowe or otherwise reversing only.
Kingsknowe and Kirknewton AHBs are located next to the station; to avoid the barriers lowering too early for stopping trains, the strike-in point for the crossing is located closer to the crossing than usual, with the platform starter maintained at red to ensure the train slows correctly. For non-stop trains, operate the 'Non-Stop' control, which will activate a strike-in point further away from the crossing, and allow the signal to clear immediately.
ARS will operate these controls as required if the relevant sub-area is enabled.
The line between EJ987 and EJ981 is a Goods line. Passenger trains from Shotts must use the crossover to the Down Shotts when joining the line from Carstairs.
Note that the Micalder and Shotts lines have much sparser signalling than the rest of the control area. In particular, note that Micalder Jn to Carstairs is approximately 14 miles, with only two intermediate signals.
Similarly, Kingsknowe to Kirknewton is 7 miles, with only one intermediate signal on the Down.
In addition to this, there are large speed differences between inter-city services, freight services and all-stations stopping services. Take care before allowing trains to run early or out of order on these lines.
A flashing yellow sequence is provided towards the Down Bathgate from EN573.
The overlap of EN574 extends across the Down Bathgate towards either the Engineers siding or Down E&G. Take care reading the timetable here; trains from Bathgate typically have an allowance to permit a second train to cross Newbridge Jn towards Bathgate before they join the main line.
EN583 at Bathgate Yard is approach lit .
Bathgate station is a single-track terminus; trains cannot enter or exit the simulation here.
A flood alarm is provided for Winchburgh Tunnel. In the event that the alarm is activated (see start-up options ), the alarm should be acknowledged by clicking it, and no all traffic between Newbridge Junction and Winchburgh Junction stopped immediately- even if an ACOA would occur. The emergency replacement switches on EW595 and EW596 should be operated.
You will receive telephone updates from the site as the incident progresses; traffic may resume when the alarm is deactivated and the person in charge confirms that the incident has been resolved.
It is up to the player how they wish to handle the inevitable disruption to services. Editing the timetable via both the timetable editor and the train list will be required. You may to divert trains via Dalmeny Junction; it is likely that you will also need to reduce services through the area. Take care to note the activities of trains towards Edinburgh, as they may form or join services working other routes.
The crossover must be Normal to allow the ground frame to release.
Trains booked to call at Bo'ness DPL (between Linlithgow and Polmont, and under the control of Polmont signal box) will exit the simulation there, to simulate appropriate regulation by Polmont signal box.
