SimSig Victoria CentralTrain Describer stepping generally works like everywhere else with the following differences.
Arriving trains will always step into the "rear" berth (buffer stops end), overwriting anything already there. There are three berths per platform shown off to the right of the station area called A, B, and C. These allow the ARS (or you) to interpose more than one train per platform. The leftmost train description will show in the "front" berth and will be the one that steps out onto the running lines when a train departs. Any trains that enter and then depart Victoria on the same timetable and headcode will need their description re-interposing into the C/B/A berth otherwise *X* * will appear when the train departs. This is true to real life.
No Train Descriptions will step into any of Victoria or Battersea Pier Carriage Sidings. The user needs to keep track of trains using these sidings, especially if 2 trains are sharing one siding.
Trains which arrive from Shepherds Bush and reverse on the far side of North Pole Junction on the Down or Up West London Lines have to be manually interposed into Victoria's berths. This is because the descriptions will already have been sent to Wembley Main Line box and cannot be retrieved.
Applies to 2000/2010/2014 eras only
Arriving trains into platform 10 will step into and overwrite the rear berth. Departing trains should be interposed into the front berth. No additional berths are provided here as the bay is only 4 carriages long.
Virtually all shunt signals will have associated TD stepping. The one exception is at Streatham Hill, VC160, which does not have a TD berth. Instead, train descriptions step over and beyond VC160.
