Basingstoke

Southern Region

Introduction

The Basingstoke simulation places you in control of around 20 miles of the South Western Main Line, from Farnborough to Worting Jn, also including the secondary lines towards Salisbury and Reading. Traffic on the main line comprises inter-urban services from London towards the south coast, including longer distance services to Weymouth and Exeter. Inter-city traffic is represented by Cross Country services between the south coast and the midlands, running via Reading. The area also sees significant freight traffic on the same axis, predominantly container trains to and from Southampton docks.

Good regulation is key to keeping the main lines moving, and handling the crossing movements at Basingstoke station.

Basingstoke is a Payware simulation - to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Shop .
