Perhaps most famous for the Dawlish sea wall, the Exeter area is well known for its varied and scenic railway interest. Covering 70 miles of main line and around 90 miles more of branches (we've included Exmouth Jn and Crediton) means that Exeter has everything from DMUs to Voyagers to HSTs, with the odd freight thrown in for good measure! The Sim covers the Great Western main line from Bridgwater to Ivybridge, as well as branches to Paignton, Exmouth, Barnstaple and Okehampton, as well as other main lines as far as Honiton on the line to Waterloo and Castle Cary on the Westbury line. Certain pinch points make regulation important on this layout, as do delays on the single lines. Knock-on delays are frequent. No Automatic Route setting is included in this simulation (although the Eggesford to Barnstaple part of the Barnstaple branch has an automatic working option). You are in full control at all times - you must set all the routes for all the trains and type in terminating trains' new descriptions when they arrive at their destinations.
The Sim covers the whole of Exeter’s area of control, and includes three other smaller boxes (Crediton, Exmouth Junction and Paignton).
Geographically, North on the panel is up, East right, South down and West left.
