SaltleyAll trains for Kingsbury Shunt Frame require a slot request from the relevant direction, but no call is required. All down trains from Tamworth for Kingsbury Shunt Frame will be held in Elford Goods Loop until the slot has been given.
In either case, the slot may not be granted quickly if the shunter is readying a train for departure. Only request the slot if no train is due to enter from Kingsbury.
A phone call must be placed to Daw Mill to request the slot to enter the sidings.
Locos reversing at signal DAW3 may be routed towards the arrow at the end of the spur, to enable them to reverse without blocking the Up Nuneaton.
Owing to the obstruction of an unmarked public footpath crossing along part of the Whitacre Down Goods Loop, trains consisting of a length exceeding 253 metres (276 yards), including the locomotive, are not to be routed into the Whitacre Down Goods Loop.
(Note: It seems that the usable length of the DGL varied at different points in time. Judging from this Network Change notice , the loop itself was originally capable of holding trains up to 88 SLU (= 563 m). At some point in time this was then reduced to a maximum length of 63 SLU (= 403 m). In January 2006, the loop length was further reduced to 48 SLU (= 307 m), before finally arriving at the present value of 253 m, presumably in 2010 or 2011 .
Trains to Hams Hall require a slot to be granted by the Hams Hall shunter. Place a call to 'West Arrival' for trains to Water Orton, 'Main' for trains from Kingsbury Jn or Nuneaton, and 'Shunt' for trains reversing behind Signal 515.
Trains will accept either route between Kingsbury Jn and Water Orton, regardless of whether they're booked via Whitacre Jn or the Fast lines.
A phone call must be placed to Washwood Heath Up Sidings before a train can be routed into the sidings.
Regulation and careful planning is essential on the Goods Lines- for example, trains to Washwood Heath Up Sidings must use the Up & Down Goods from Water Orton. It's also possible to end up with severe delays, or a stand-off between two trains both blocking each other's path. Close co-operation with the Centre panel signaller is required in Mulitplayer. See also the Centre panel notes.
