This box works Track Circuit Block (TCB) to Scunthorpe PSB and Absolute Block (AB) to Elsham. Originally signalled with semaphores and lever frame. It was later resignalled along with Elsham with an IFS (individual Function Switch) panel and 3 aspect colour lights. The simulation currently simulates the semaphore version of the box.
A large box containing a great central lever frame, controlling the Barnetby station area, and the line towards Brocklesby Junction. It works AB on all lines towards Wrawby Junction, and also on the Up Main towards Brocklesby. The Down Main and Down Goods are signalled using TCB.
A small NX panel covering the section of the Lincoln-Doncaster route from Gainsborough Trent Junction to a fringe with Doncaster. It includes several crossings and also control of the passing loops at Beckingham itself.
A mechanical lever frame box controlling MAS signals with crossing control. In the simulation, the level crossing at Brigg has been converted to a CCTV crossing.
A small NX panel covering the now disused Brocklesby station and the western side end of the Habrough - Ulceby - Brocklesby triangle.
Similar to Appleby (Lincs) and was resignalled around the same time. Works AB to Wrawby Junction and Appleby (Lincs). There used to be a station and sidings here, however all is now closed, although a coal merchant still occupies the station yard.
A Great Central lever frame Box that controls the section through Gainsborough Central station.
A mechanical lever frame box controlling the section through Gainsborough Lea Road station. It is able to switch out when access to the nearby sidings is not required (in later years, it was only manned Monday-Friday 0800-1600 - not on a Saturday when the Brigg line was open and the shortening of the long block section between Gainsborough Trent Jn & Stow Park was useful)!
Note - This box is now closed as a result of a fire. All its signals have had the arms removed, and points have all been clamped in the normal position. The sim represents the box in working condition.
A large LNER mechanical lever frame box controlling the section over Gainsborough Trent junction using a mix of semaphore and power signalling.
A small mechanical box that controls the Goxhill station and crossing. In the simulation, Goxhill crossing has been converted to a CCTV crossing.
A mechanical lever frame box that controls the approaches to Grimsby Royal docks and one end of the Grimsby Light Railway.
A mechanical lever box that controls a much reduced layout. Grimsby Marsh used to be a triangle to allow trains from the Grimsby direction to access the Royal docks and the Grimsby light railway. In modern mode, the chord is not there and thus not simulated. In 1980 era, the chord has been included. It should be noted that the area was not track circuited so the simulation uses some artistic license to show what the area may have looked like if it had been.
A BPRSCo Slide Frame and a small IFS panel which controls the lines into the eastern jetty of Immingham docks as well as the western end of the Grimsby Light Railway. It also controls entry into and out of Immingham TMD.
A BPRSCo Slide Frame and small NX panel that covers the entry to the Humber and Lindsey Oil facilities. An IFS panel controls the lines over Humber Road junction where the lines splits to either Immingham East or Immingham West.
An IFS panel that controls the Western approaches to Immingham docks. Also includes access to the Killingholme branch and the bulk coal and ore terminals.
A small Great Central box which used to control entrance to the now closed Kirton lime sidings. Works AB to Brigg, and TCB on the single line to Northorpe.
The intermediate passing point on the now singled Brigg line. Works TCB both ways and has a level crossing.
Absolute Block box that controls Oxmarsh LC.
A small NX panel with relay interlocking that covers the line from Cleethorpes to Grimsby. It was commissioned in 1985 to replace a mechanical lever frame. It was modified in September 1993 where is was extended to cover Grimsby station to Grimsby Marsh junction and replaced the crossing boxes at Garden St, Wellowgate, Friargate and Littlefield which dated back to the 1880's. The simulation uses the current version of Pasture street in both modern and 1980 era. However the 1980 era does include a siding between platforms 1 and 2 that was removed prior to the panel being updated in 1993.
A small box on the Grimsby Light Railway, which still maintains its hand worked gates. This box controls access to the single line, using electric token block. It works TCB to Great Coates No1 box.
A small Great Central box with wheel worked gates. Acts as a block post on the line between Stallingborough and Ulceby, working AB to the former, and TCB to the latter.
The largest box in the area, Scunthorpe is a medium-sized NX panel that controls the area from its fringe with Doncaster in the west to Appleby crossing box at the east. The panel itself, like the sim, is split into East and West panels. The boundary between them is slightly different in the simulation purely for the fact that the real boundary would be very difficult to draw correctly.
A new build NX panel controlling the level crossing and working AB to Marsh Junction and Roxton Sidings.
Absolute Block in both directions.
A very small crossing box consisting of a small portacabin and a small mechanical ground frame that controls the approach signals and the crossing. In the sim, the crossing has been converted to a CCTV type.
A mechanical lever frame box that controls the station at Ulceby and the junction to access the Barton-on-Humber branch. Also contains a small IFS panel to cover Habrough Junction
Small IFS panel controlling the main line past West Burton as well as the entrance and exit lines to the power station itself. Can be switched out when not in regular use with supervision of the area passing to Gainsborough Trent Junction signal box.
Mechanical Absolute Block box controlling Wrawby Junction itself and the western approaches to Barnetby station.
