SimSig Victoria South Eastern Panel 10BThis panel covers St Mary Cray (exclusive) through Swanley to Otford Junction (inclusive) and Fawkham Junction (inclusive). Regulation of up trains onto the correct lines through Swanley ensures smoother operation further up the line.
During quieter periods this panel and panel 10A are operated by one signaller.
This station sees the last of the four tracking towards central Kent.
This junction only exists in the modern era. However, trains will be timetabled in the old era as well for SimSig purposes. In a slight departure from reality, the signalling at Fawkham Junction only reflects the modern layout at one moment in time. The signalling there has altered several times in the course of the two eras simulated. However, timing and headways will be broadly similar throughout.
The Up Loop can be used for passenger trains if necessary.
This signal is approach controlled for all routes in the modern era. In the old era it is only approach controlled for the Otford direction.
There are two routes from VS253 to VS301: one via the Down Chatham Fast (default; straight line); the other via the Chatham Slow Lines (wiggle). Conversely there is not a wiggle route from VS300 to VS250.
Setting VS245 to VS251 allows one of three overlaps. The least conflicting swings into the sand drag. The other two continue over the junction.
Trains can run-round in platform 2 via VS631 and VS636/VS638. When the loco is ready to rejoin the remainder of the train in platform two, set the shunt route as usual and then operate the track circuit override by right-clicking on the red circle next to the letter T. The shunt signal will now show a proceed aspect.
Because of the short distance to VS300, VS638 will only show a proceed aspect once VS300 is showing a proceed aspect.
Panel 10B connects with panel 10A at the north-west (left) end. No special operation is required here as the section is automatic on all four tracks.
At the right hand ends there are four fringes. From top to bottom:
