East CoastwaySouthern Region
The East Coastway simulation covers what was (until the 2015 resignalling) one of the last pockets of mechanical signalling on the former Southern Region. Nine boxes control the south coast line east of Brighton to just west of Hastings, along with the branch to Newhaven and Seaford. The area has a busy passenger service connecting the various towns with Brighton and London to the north, as well as the more rural service to Ashford.
Semaphore signalling is represented, along with more intricate details such as control of distant signals. For the more experienced player, or a more 'interactive' multiplayer session, absolute block working is simulated. Getting everything spot on is a good challenge even for the experienced player!
East Coastway is a payware simulation- to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Products area .

*Absolute Block representation

I would like to thank the following people, in no particular order, without whose help and patience, this simulation would not have been possible:
Thanks to Geoff Mayo for creating SimSig and allowing me to become part of the development team, Noel Young for preparing the default TTs, and the (very) testing team Neil Brady, Howard Potter, Chris Lord, Andy Greenland, Dave McCormick, Noel Young, Matt Cooper, Ben Woodward, James Nelhams, John Bessant, David Atkinson, Mark Camp, Luke Arnold, Chris Hobden, the staff at the following signal boxs for allowing me access to their place of work and putting up with numerous questions, Lewes, Newhaven Town, Newhaven Harbour, Berwick, Polegate, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, Pevensey and Westham and Bexhill, and anybody else I have missed out.
