Hope Valley

London Midland Region

Introduction

The Hope Valley simulation places you in control of the southernmost trans-pennine line, connecting Manchester with Sheffield. Also included is the branch line to Buxton, and various freight-only lines serving the quarries of the Peak District. Most of the area is still under the control of traditional signal boxes, with most retaining semaphore signals and working under the absolute block system.

Traffic is a mix of long-distance and local passenger services, and a considerable amount of freight traffic serving the various terminals. There are limited opportunities to hold slower trains for faster ones to pass, so good regulation is key to keeping the line flowing.

Hope Valley is a payware simulation- to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Products area .
