Slough

Western Region

Introduction

Slough sits in the middle of the very busy London- Reading corridor, at the eastern end of the Great Western Main Line. Unlike some main lines out of the capital, few branches diverge and of those that do, all except the Heathrow line (whose trains leave the main line just before entering Slough's control area) operate as self-contained shuttles. As such, Slough sees almost all of the traffic out of Paddington, with expresses to the west on the main lines and local stopping services on the Relief lines. While most traffic passes through the area, you need to keep alert to trains booked to swap between main and relief lines, and freight traffic, some of which serves terminals in the Slough area.

The branches to Windsor and Marlow are simulated, including the full detailed token arrangements on the Marlow branch. Despite the layout and signalling of the branch being heavily rationalised, it still retains the ability to provide intensive shuttle services for the morning and evening peaks.

Slough is a payware simulation- to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Products area .
