Introduction

Telford & Oxley covers the secondary route between the busy junctions at Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury. The simulation also includes the large maintenance depot at Oxley, and the freight branch to Ironbridge power station.

Traffic is generally light, usually comprising two passenger trains in each direction an hour, with a smattering of freight. Overnight, Oxley depot provides additional interest, with trains moving between lines as they undergo overnight servicing ready for the day ahead. All of this combines to give an ideal introduction to handling the different types of traffic along a main line and single track branch, without being overwhelming. The different methods of setting shunt routes in different areas of the real workstation are recreated here as well.
