Bi-Dir (Route)

Bi-Dir (Route)

A Bi-Directional Route is where signals are installed to enable reversible working over one or more lines.

Can be one or both lines of a main line to allow 2 trains to proceed in the same direction on double tracks, or a single line that can be used both directions.

An example of the former exists between Didcot and Swindon, and the latter at all 3 platforms lines at Westbury.
