Use this to permanently save changes to the master timetable.
Ensure the timetable editor is closed before using this command.
The Timetable file (.wtt) will be saved with the file name on the 'General' tab of the timetable editor, but this can be changed at this point if required.
This is not to be confused with save game , which saves the current simulation position (and embeds the current TT within the saved simulation). Timetable writers or editors should be aware that this can cause the saved TT and the TT used in the live session to lose synchronisation. This can arise in three ways.
If you save changes to a timetable and save the simulation session at the same time then the data held in the timetable file will be the same as the data for the timetable embedded in the session save. If you then load an earlier save, the session you are running holds the timetable data before the edits most recently saved. If you save the timetable at this point you will lose all of the edits most recently saved because you will be over-writing the file copy of the timetable with the timetable data embedded in the current session of the simulation.
If you save the timetable but do not save the simulation session then re-start from an earlier saved game you are again running a session which holds timetable data before the edits most recently saved. Again if you save the timetable at this point you will lose all of the edits most recently saved because you will be over-writing the file copy of the timetable with the timetable data embedded in the current session of the simulation.
If you save the simulation session after editing the timetable but do not save the timetable then any new session of the simulation using the timetable offered when the simulation is loaded will embed the saved, unedited version of the timetable in the simulation session. However, if you load a saved simulation session from after the timetable edits were made and then save the timetable the edits will over-write the previous unedited version of the timetable.
As long as you remember to keep the saved versions of timetable and simulation session in sync there are no problems but if you don't keep things in sync it is easy to lose timetable updates that may have taken a lot of work to create.
