This has probably been asked previously but is it possible to update the trains length and consist after a divide/join. For example 4 coach joins 8 coach but 8 coach still shows 8 coaches and has its length as an 8 coach train.

You need to create a new train type for the train once the vehicles have been detached or joined then at the location where those activities occur where it says 'new category' in the TT editor you MUST put the new train type in there so when the train departs after the activities have taken place the train description should then be updated. At the relevant location select the relevant train type from the 'New Category' drop-down list, this will change the description to suit the new formation.

Note that this requires the timetable author to put the information in. Timetables pre-dating this new feature, or written since without the stock change, will continue to show the pre-joining formation.

For example 4 coach joins 8 coach but 8 coach still shows 8 coaches and has its length as an 8 coach train.I also always found it annoying and it is now a option when writing tt's now as other have said However, although written prior to this tool addition, all of my 2012 tt's will also have the correct length in the description after a join / divide as I split up the trains to have a different UID after the change of length. Not sure if all views work OK though. Have this one (on Moss Vale AUS) where 3910 has a simple change category (speed 65k to 80k) yet the 'characteristics' shown on the TD click window are still speed = 65k after the change. Now checked through again. The description used by 'Click on TD' is altered on a save. Prior to save is using the current train type Reloading the save is giving the original train type when restarting Single train test attached Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |
