At Stratford it may be to do with the white (reversing) triangle at signal BJ428. If you getting your clicking slightly off and click on this instead of on the signal, the route sets but the TD doesn't follow (if I recall correctly). At Longbridge and Redditch are you interposing the outward TD in the 4-character block marked DEP adjacent to the station or siding. The sim reads from that box to the berths at Longbridge and on the approach to Barnt Green. If the box is empty, the sim passes a "blank" code to the next berth which is translated as "****" for display purposes. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 19/12/2011 at 17:37 by postal Log in to reply |

Users should also be aware that V7.0d is under development and will (hopefully) be refined to the extent that the sim will randomly pick a day of the week and then only run the trains appropriate to that day. That is because lots of the trains run only on specific days of the week but the TT is not clever enough as published to only run the Monday trains (or Tuesday trains or whatever) but just selects the trains on the basis of a probability level. That means that a MO train would have a 20% probability of running as would a WO train, but they could both appear in a single run if they both dropped through the probability filter. With any luck V7.0d should be available in the next couple of weeks (says he casting himself as a hostage to fortune rather than relying on the fact that it will be ready when it's ready). Then maybe 7.0e will follow with the user able to pick the day of the week rather than relying on a random selection but that is further into the future.

For all those who are playing this timetable I've found an out-standing issue in V7.0c of this timetable. This involves train 2S07 0827 EWD Dorridge - Jewellery Quarter. The train terminates at Jewellery Quarter at 0855. It's next working is 5S07 08+57 EWD ECS Jewellery Quarter - Tyseley T&RSMD. Now this service does indeed terminate at Jewellery Quarter & does form 5S07 as per WTT Section CG. Now when you run the timetable analysis one of the warnings states:- 2S07: Jewellery Quarter not a sensible ending point (not a key location) 2S07: Not safe to have activities at Jewellery Quarter. When writing the timetable the only way round it was to alter the train ID at Jewellery Quarter to 5S07 & run the train via Galton Junction. Unfortunately when running the sim the train heads off towards SY.459 signal on its own accord despite the rote being set from Jewellery Quarter to Galton Junction. Therefore anyone getting to this point needs to advise the train to 'reverse directiion' so the train heads off in the right direction. If in the future this location in the sim is changed whereby activities can be carried out, you will have to perform the 'reverse direction' tatic unless someone knows a better way of getting round this. Hello Pascal, notice a small TT error that should be corrected as path & line locations are stated. 6V68L1 departs Water Orton 00/43, Landor St Jn. 00:57 00t59 ML. Behind is 5K27 Water Orton 00/45½, Landor St Jn 00/53, ML. Cheers Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Barry, I understand what you are stating, however the timings & line are as per the WTT. As I've mentioned before it's all part of regulating the traffic for Landor Street Junction. Even though the WTT states 'ML', in reality 6V68L1 would be routed up the Goods line to Landor Street Junction & 5K27 would be routed via the 'ML'. In the real world all freights requiring traincrew relief at Landor Street Junction would be held on the Down Goods line at SY.218 signal or coming from Bromsgrove would be held at SY.23 signal on the Up Goods line until such time as the forward driver rings the signaller at Saltley PSB & advises him what train he his booked to work. Trains coming from Leamington Spa would be held in the Down Goods Loop at SY.178 signal. What I tend to do in the situation you mention is to run 6V68L1 along the Down Goods line to SY.206 signal where the traincrew relieving point is & 5K27 would go past on the Down Main. One of the important things to do in this timetable is to regulate the freight traffic accordingly, especially when the passenger traffic starts running. I tend to make a mental note of freight trains approaching Landor Street Junction as to how long they are booked to stand hopefully avoiding having freight services standing for a long time at Landor Street Junction. I don't know what other players think, but if I altered the timings of trains so they didn't clash at Landor Street junction I think it would remove one of the most important aspects of this sim. The thing that sets Landor Street Junction apart is the fact that it is the busiest freight train relieving point on the network & as a result provides a huge challenge to the player in regulating trains correctly. Having said that 6V68L1 is the Sunday night depart from Lindsey OR, so it shouldn't appear too many times.

Pascal, thanks for your quick reply. I understand the setup. I was just thinking of the "newbies". I did not want you to alter the times, just adjust the lines. But as Goods trains do not affect the "penalties" for those concerned, I would not worry about any alterations. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Hi Pascal, Is the TT correct for 5H22 and 2M01. Both at plat 3 Snow Hill at 06:33? There is something wrong some where as tablers just don't do that sort of thing. Perhaps platform allocation is incorrect. Just curious. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Thanks for that Barry, I had exactly the same problem as you described last night whilst testing V7.0d. There needs to be a platform alteration there for one of the trains. The matter will be rectified over the weekend. I will also look into 4V07D, as I didn't have a problem with that when it appeared.

Hi John, Found a TT problem whilst in multi_play today. 2N35 and 2N37 leave BHNS at the same time 08:36. Easily fixed. However a rule should be created for late/out of order running as 2N35 forms 5N44 at Longbridge to Barnt Green and turns around. 2N37 goes to Redditch and will be blocked by 5N44 at Barnt Green. " said:Hi John,TT was 4 minutes in error for 2N37 which has been corrected. I don't think a rule is appropriate because it is an operating decision. If 2N37 is sent ahead of 2N35, then the signaller and control have to decide how to minimise the overall delay. If the trains leave New Street in the wrong order but close together, the decision can be taken not to stop the second train at Kings Norton and send it past Kings Norton on the fast using the crossover just south of Kings Norton to get back onto the slow. If there is a longer gap, the second train may be held approaching Barnt Green while 2N37 / 5N44 is reversed at Barnt Green and leaves as soon as possible rather than waiting time. Signaller/control then have to manage any conflicts on the Up Fast / Longbridge, but that is what they are paid for. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 02/01/2012 at 16:55 by postal Log in to reply |

Pascal (58050) has just submitted V7.0d to be uploaded and replace previous versions. This version includes all amendments noted thus far in this thread and also some other bits and pieces of timings and rules that Pascal and JC92 have found while testing. The notes at the front of the TT now read: "This timetable includes all freight and trip workings for the whole Monday to Friday week (including those that run only on certain days). At the start of the TT there are 5 separate light engine TTs (0L69F1 - 0L69F5) for a move from Saltley to Lawley St FLT with rules to ensure that only one of these services runs. That defines the day of the week and only the services in the TT due to run on that day of the week will appear. Please be aware that adjusting the start time of the TT to be later than the entry time of 0L69F1 - 0L69F5 will mean that many of the trains in the TT will not appear. This is because none of the "seed" trains which control the rules for the entry of these trains will have run. "The timetable has been written by Pascal Nadin (58050) using data from his private collection of WTTs, trip working books and other relevant documents. There may be errors in this TT because of incorrect information in the official documentation or because of errors in transcription into the SimSig TT. Please post any errors on the SimSig Forum so that later versions of the TT can be corrected." In particular it would be helpful if any instances of trains running on the "wrong" day could be reported. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |
