Hello All,

As I saw there was a new version of KX, I decided to wipe my computer clear of all SimSig software and start again. I firstly downloaded the system files, then the new KX software. However there doesnt seem to be an exe file or anywhere to boot up the simulator.
Would appriciate any help.

THANKS!

PHIL PRICE

You should have a program called 'Simsig Loader'. Updated sims such as KX can be opened through this loader.

Also, there is no need to delete software/files before updating as any updates will simply overwrite them.

All fixed now thankyou!

I start my new job here as a signaller in the new year, so this will come in handy now that its been updated!
Just a small shame that the heartford loop wasnt put under a seperate signaller, and there are some panel cross over points that are wrong

Good effort tho!

He sure would. Kings Cross is having further changes. Geoff was after the details incurred in the Hertford Loop area,

Is there plans for a 1970's version where The Moorgate lines went via Kings Cross York Road and Farringdon?

Also a couple of signals present on modern mode that no longer exist - K446 and K406 both on Up Slow 2 between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park. Also K419 on Up Slow 2 controlling movenments into Hornsey EMUD or over flyover is in reality a ground position light numbered K83.

Many thanks for refreshing this sim though, your hard work is very much appreciated!

But isnt the concept of a simulator to try and be as realistic as possible?

So Peter first suggests he could give some input to assist in making the sim more accurate.

I was a bit miffed aswell to be honest. Simulators are supposed to mimic real life as much as possible.

The lack of Biggleswade and Royston is down to the fact that the whole area couldn't be fitted into 6 screens (Kings Cross was written before the Scrolly format came along). Since then, Peterborough was written which was extended to include Biggleswade, and Cambridge was extended to include Royston. Personally, I think the simulation boundary should stay as it is- changing it would break every TT written on all three simulations.

I agree with you on all the other points though.

Actually, it might be doable with only breaking timetables on King's Cross, as that'd be the only one extended.
