I am posting this here as a warning for users who may experiance trouble. I just had an update for Windows 7 and after the reboot I lost my mouse and a few other drivers. (I use Windows 7 Pro) I belive the update is "October, 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 (3185330)" I had to reinstall a number of drivers to enable me to use my computer again. While all my system's are on Windows 10 Pro x64 v1607 14939.321 (RTM Release in August 2nd) I do have a spare laptop with Windows 7 Pro x64 that I use while my main system is video processing ect. I've just applied this update October, 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 (KB3185330) and successfully install and restarted. Once back to the main desktop nothing was a miss and no drivers were missing. Maybe it's affecting certain users / machines this update?. While I stress this update is also installed KB2952664 – the detested snooping patch Aaron (AJRO) | Timetable Writer Log in to reply |

The KB2952664 may be responsable in my case. I checked with my laptop manafacture, and my laptop is not supported in upgrading to Windows 10. And that update is about compatibility in upgrading to win 10. Up until last night I never had an issue with any update, and my suprise at having rebooted and finding no cursor, and looking in device manager (its fun trying to navigate with just the keyboard) having a number of devices with warning's Log in to reply |
