My son has made his first YouTube video and we managed to get it uploaded after a bit of fiddling. However, we can't seem to find it doing a search- have tried adding qobldiegook to the title, description and tags and then searching for that but all we get back is a failed search (it is Public viewing). It is there as we can find it searching for his user name. Any experts out there who know how this works? Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

northroad said:Peter,Yes I gave it an obscure title for example [1a22dhyets] and did a search which gave no result and tried the same for tags and description. derbybest said: I can find it searching by user name but that's not the point. I don't know how often google update the youtube search indices, but it could be a while after the video posting. Give it a day or so, if it still not come up, contact youtube support.

Youtube search results take a few days to be updated, also try using a name where other suggestions would be shown at the side of the video these other videos will help because they would show yours as a suggestion, try searching google for youtube (youtube user) (video name) using one obscure word to search for is counter productive. the more names and tags the better chance of your video hitting up on a search result. have you got a link to the video? it's here - it's just an experiment though he's now on part 4 I believe - keeps him out of mischief during the holiday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rl936tudwo Though all the software we seem to have now downloaded to edit and make these things seems to have now ground my laptop to a halt. Separate question is a 1.73Ghz CPU dual core twice as good as a 1.73GHz single core? Am looking to upgrade and found one for £30, just not sure if it's like for like so pointless or double so worth trying. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Yeah all he needs to do is start adding tags, like nintendo ds etc anything related to the video, then should start to apear in recomendations and searches, not sure its double the speed but you will benefit from it. ill send you links to the video editing software i use its free as well and because the previews are in a lower quality its quicker to audition clips if your on a slower computer like mine, you can still encode in hd and super fine quality etc but this helps make the program faster. Quote: OK- we did purchase a license of AVI (I think it was) last night and that's the program that then locked the computer up for 2 hours- Admitedly it said the minimum requirement was 2.2 and we only have 1.73 (or whatever) but it did work eventually. Am not sure exactly what he was doing but it involed something called paint.net which I downloaded and colour layering and heaven knows what- all lost on me. But later parts are certainly a lot better and, I believe, in focus.... Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
