Is it the word "thrice" that you object to?

"Nay, nay..."

Well, in that case, I can't really see any tangible difference between the two sentences.

Sorry but I do not understand either. The only real difference between the two sentences is replacing the word "thrice" by "three times". Yet you say it's not the word "thrice" you object to, and have not explained exactly what is the problem!

"Thrise" is a legitimate word in the English language that means "three times" though I would agree it's not a particularly common term these days.

It's possible I guess, that the younger generation or someone whose native tongue is not English may not have seem it before and hence the confusion.

As Chris says, it's a legitimate word and the sentence makes sense too - I did get a couple of people to check, just to make sure. However, it's a Wiki so anybody registered can edit if they feel the urge.

Lardybiker,

I'm not native English speaking but I understood this sentence for the very first time I've read. However, I see your point that this might not common
