Just a quick note to say that during a multiplayer game tonight, we found the chaining between Westbury & Exeter to be unworkable without authorising passing signals at danger in the down direction (ie Westbury to Exeter), and various routes not displaying and interacting with each other. I believe it has been logged (along with a few other things) on the bug board.

Just thought anyone else planning a chain would appreciate knowing before they get well into a session!

God bless, Daniel Wilson

Same problem.

Anything on this since November?

What is the version of Exeter and Westbury you are using - tell me the numbers not "the latest".

Help - About and you get a pop-up with the sim version number listed.

The simulations and associated files in the Download Area are not always the most up-to-date versions. After launching the Loader, click on "Check for Updates" to get the latest sims and system files.

I've had no such issues on my host in the past when I've chained the two. And that is using Westbury Version: 4.2 build 2 and Exeter Version: 4.3 build 1.

My original post back in November referred to the "original" loader re-release, and as has been documented, these are superseded by the versions of both sims obtainable by clicking for updates in the loader.

My original post was done at the time as I think the chain we attempted that day as the first known one after release, and I posted to warn anyone wanting to try it (basically not to bother as it didn't work).

That original post was superseded by the sim updates made available, which fixed the original chaining issue. If it's now being said that the most up to date available versions of Exeter and Westbury (my loader has Exeter 4.3 Build 1 and Westbury 4.2 Build 2, although I can't say I've tried chaining these two versions particularly) don't chain correctly, then please let us know.

God bless, Daniel Wilson

From Help/About on both I see:

Loader 4.0.14
Sim Data 4.1

Helpful, or you're looking for some other version info?

Not sure whether it is relevant to the problem, but the "Check for Updates" button will bring you an updated version of the loader and onlydjw reports updated versions of the sims which will come down at the same time.

By using "Check for Updates" The current versions I get are:

Loader: 4.0.19
Exeter: 4.3 (Build 1)
Westbury: 4.2 (Build 2)

If you update to these version (Use "Check for Updates" on the Loader) then this chaining *should* work.

I had *assumed* that if none of the Titles were in red when I started the loader then no updates were required.

Some were pending.

Red means that the version of the Loader you are using cannot run that simulation.

Without telling the Loader to look online, it cannot tell you if there are updates to be found.
