Are there any plans to add voice cuts (or support for voice cuts) to SimSig so that when drivers or other people call in you hear it instead of just reading a line of text?

This is not as crazy as you might think as the HARRIS tower museum got an old Pennsylvania Railroad block operator to record a full set of voice cuts for their 1943 schedule simulation. You hear the voice over the block line announcing which train is on its way as well as the tower's telephone which will occasionally ring. I'm not sure if that's a feature in Train Dispatcher 3 or if they rigged up their own system triggered from TD3.

I think it'd be a fun idea. Either as an optional download, or using Windows's TTS engine (I haven't used Windows for a long time though so I can't remember how good the TTS sounds).

Simsig has the ability to play any recorded wave file in F3 Messages.

Not to the fine-grained level of having different clips for different contents of phone calls, it doesn't, which is what we're talking about!

Problem with that is phonecalls are customisable - there's far to many variables to make it widely implemented.

Personally, one of the reasons I enjoy SimSig is that it's a game that can be played in (almost) silence, and I can have music on in the background without losing anything, so it isn't a feature I'd use.
