Signal bugs 01/04/2015 at 23:17 #70630

Hi all,

When playing the session hosted by y10g9 (Bathan) this evening I noticed that some signals were affected by an interesting bug. The signals I noticed this on were:

- 31 & 32 (South 2 panel, near Birmingham International)
- the signals either side of Adderley Park station, heading toward Birmingham NS

The bug in question was that two signals in sequence were showing double amber aspects as shown in the screendumps below. Nathan (y10g9) has the saved games as he was hosting but I attach the screenshots here. Nathan says he will post the game save(s).

I know the screendumps come up a bit small when loaded but the errors can be seen.

Cheers,
Dave

Possibly as real if insufficient braking distances due to short blocks.
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Not bugs: see here. I'll try to remember to add it to the manual after my dinner.

Edit: eaten and added to the manual.

Better tell S&T that someone has replaced their yellow lamps with amber ones, then!

For at least Bham International, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for reduced braking distance is that the station was added after the PSB was opened, and it was the best solution available.

I think what Dave meant was fairly clear and not subject to misinterpretation.

Also, changing the lamp would make no difference, they are all white, you would have to change the inner lens.

Playing the new Saltley loader, delighted to have it as an addition.

Found 2 instances where trains that have been 20+ late have been stopping at signals saying they are at red when they are actually showing a clear aspect and refusing to move.

Happened with 2J12 (24 late) 194 at Moor St on the down, 2B09 (14 late) at Tyseley South Jn and SH29 at Shirley again in the down direction - didn't get the headcode I'm afraid.

On the train list it says the trains are awaiting right-away. Told 2J12 to shunt forward it increased speed to 15mph then stopped and went through the station stop procedure again. Tried to shunt forward again at the rightaway stage but still nothing.

Any ideas?
