Evening all,
As you may be aware, Newcourt station opened today, between topsham and Digby and Sowton. Can anyone confirm if there are any plans to add this extra station/timing point into the Exeter simulation?

Thanks.

At a guess, "no", unless someone is able to supply the relevant plans. It also sounds like Peter has umpteen other sims to update in the meantime!

In the interests of accuracy it would be nice if Peter could introduce a new 2015 era into the TT with Newcourt added in, but does it actually make any difference to anyone using the sim? If anyone writes a 2015 TT using the current sim, they would be unable to enter the times for Newcourt. However, all that would mean is that the trains would arrive at Digby or Sowton earlier than TT'd. As they are presumably Class 2 trains, they wouldn't leave those stations earlier than scheduled so the impact would be non-existent as far as the signaller is concerned.

Nice to have but not really an item to go at the top of the to-do list.

I am currently doing a 2015 timetable based around April for Exeter currently which won't be too long from release, among the other Great Western Sims. Newcourt was not open then (obviously), but I doubt the lack of that platform would detract from the sim, as Newcourt is of no operational significance to the signalling, and there is plenty of time allowed between Digby and Topsham to cater for it.

Just my two cents worth...

Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

Give me the miles and chains, which side of the track, TIPLOC and it should take 10 minutes to work it all out.

Having stopped there last night on the way back from work - didn't realise it was open.. I can tell you it's the same side of the line as Polsloe bridge. I don't know the mileage though.

And according to the Feasibility Study for the station it is at 2m. 77ch. (2m. 75ch. is quoted in at least one other source). For reference the study shows Digby & Sowton at 2m. 20ch. and Topsham at 4m. 26ch.

The study shows the proposed platform length as 100m. but more recent information on t'internet gives it as 124m.

The gen from an FGW driver on WNXX forum is that the station is at 3 miles 6 chains from Exmouth Junction, platform length 135 yards.

Phil Deaves' website suggests the same for the miles & chains:
