1. extreme frustration at lack of sim-wide TORR - yes I know its authentic. Doesn't stop it being frustrating ; main reason I left it last time ( same for NEScot - lovely sim but frustrated the bejeezus out of me ; could they not be released with the masochist option optional ? )

2. Keep getting stuck at Larbert and Stirling "route not ready to release" when all routes around are fine , clearing point violations with nothing in the vicinity

There is a manual; I've read it and still no wiser.

I can just about keep up with VicCentp, VICSe and BNS at normal speed; why does this sim annoy ...

With Absolute Block clearing points are more than just an overlap. Sometimes they need points to be set and locked in a specific position. I wrote a guide to the clearing points and it's available for download here. There is also a link to the file in the sim manual but it's not working.

Which routes are you setting here? In some cases (e.g. the route into the loop at Dunblane), the route can only be set when the train enters the track circuit on the approach to the signal. It's like the approach control you see in all simulations, the difference being that you can't set the route with the signal clearing later in semaphore areas, for obvious reasons.

Just to add aswell. you can't set a route TO a semaphore that has already been cleared, or not yet had its route cancelled after the passage of a train.

It sounds like you haven't copied the .WTR file, which contains the timetable rules that prevent this happening. As well as copying the "CScot 2013 v1.1.WTT file, you also need to copy the "CScot 2013 v1.1.WTR" file.

To check, open F4, and click on the rules tab. Are any rules listed there?

In that case, as I said above, you need to copy the .WTR file from the folder you downloaded into your CScot folder. You just need to do exactly the same thing you did with the .WTT file.

Personally I believe that updating the Scottish sims to Loader standard should be a priority. Given that they're paid sims, I expected that they would be one of the first to be updated to the modern standard, as opposed to the Railworks approach of releasing DLC and then letting them become outdated.

who says they aren't? I haven't seen peter release anything recently in preference to updating existing Sims. they could very well be a priority, but time contraints mean they haven't been completed yet. Peter has mentioned elsewhere that Edinburgh was WIP with a possible modern era as well.

Someone is doing an up-to-date set of timetables, when I get these the Sims will be released (Not EDB yet or I suppose I could release as loader without the updates - that bit's done).

I hosted Edinburgh recently and some of the clients did comment it would be nice to see a loader version as people are getting used to the richer functionality available in multi player sessions.

On this basis I think quite a few in the community, including me, would be happy to see an interim release without the new layout.
