Anything that runs Windows 7/8.1/10 should be more than fine. I've not tried myself in a few years, but it did used to work fine under Crossover, and perhaps would be fine with Darwine. Welcome back! Installation instructions are on this page of the SimSig Wiki. Additional instructions for Mac users are given at the bottom of the page. It is possible to run SimSig on a Mac, although it appears that you have to install a Windows emulator of your choice in order to run it. Note that the SimSig Loader was introduced a couple of years ago. This means that, after installation, the way you start most simulations has changed. See here for details. monkshood said: Can someone point me to the heads up re requirements to run Simsig on a PCThere aren't any major requirements. SimSig should run on any PC, although simulations will take longer to load on XP. Memory-wise, my entire SimSig installation, which includes practically every simulation and tons of saves, is about 0.4GB. The system files (required to run any simulation) are 7.2MB, simulations typically 1 to 2 MB, saved games between 20 and 300 KB a time depending on simulation size and how many trains you have in it. So basically, unless your hard drive is almost full or you're running an ancient PC, you shouldn't have any problems running SimSig. I can confirm that Simsig runs fine on a Mac. I installed it via Crossover and have had no problems. Just follow the instructions in the Wiki.
