I'm running Royston with the "Platform 1 blocked" scenario. I've managed to keep things running up to about 7:20, and found out about editing the timetable to avoid being marked down when re-routing to platform 2. Now I have 3R52 entered at Baldock. Timetabled into platform 2 at 7:20, and returning to Baldock as 1R52 departing at 7:40. What's the right way to deal with it blocking the only platform for 20 minutes? Edit the timetable so 1R52 leaves early? Or shunt it into the down loop while other traffic passes? Or something else? Last edited: 09/01/2017 at 21:11 by Hackscribble Reason: typo Log in to reply |

You'll need to ring the shunter to tell him that the train is going to the Down Loop. I would say you would just have to hold it at the signal before the station. you could allow the next train to leave early but in that case you would need to ensure that any stops after royston are also taken in to account as if it stops at A&M it may end up being held there until departure time and any train behind would also be held. Another option, since it's a ECS and not a passenger train, would be to run it through the station on to one of the two tracks on the Cambridge side, then bring it back once the conflicting train is clear. This requires at least one unsignalled move. Nobody said it was going to be easy. Log in to reply |
