I am probably missing something obvious, but how do I upload an image to the wiki?

Have a look under "Formatting Syntax" and see if that helps you. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

It isn't possible at the moment, Mantis 16427 has been open for a while about it.

It's now possible. To upload an image, click 'manage files' at the bottom of the page, next to the edit link. Click 'add new', select your file and click 'add file'. Make sure there are no spaces in the name of the file you're uploading. To insert it into the same page, use the following syntax: {{:Page address which the file is stored under:file name|}} For example: {{:usertrack:areainfo:aston.png|}} Note that file name must be the full name, including the file type- so include the .png, .jpg, .pdf etc. Note also that the colon after the opening braces must be present. I think this works: 1) Go to the Wiki page where you want to insert the image. 2) At the bottom of the page click on the "Manage files" link. 3) You are taken to a Files Index page. Click on "Add new". 4) Browse to your image and upload file. 5) Return to the Wiki page where you wish to insert the image and click on "Edit this page" at the foot. 6) Position your cursor in the editing panel where you wish your image to appear and click on the "Image" button at the top of the panel. 7) Replace the example.png text inside the double braces with the path and name of your file. You can extract the path from the URL at the top of the page. The path is derived from the text after the Show?page=. For example if that text is meets%3AMarch2018, the path is :meets:March2018 . At the end of the path add another colon and the file name. 8) You can adjust the size of the displayed image by adding a parameter after the file name. Add "?" (without the quotation marks) then a size. I can't remember whether that size is constrained to certain figures within the system but I have certainly used 200, 300, 400, 600 and 800 (smallest to largest) at various times. It may represent the width in pixels but that is guesswork. 9) If you want to add a caption under the picture, insert the "|" symbol (shift and \ on UK keyboards and again without the quotation marks) after the file name but still inside the double braces followed by the text you wish to display. When all that is done save the page and your image should be displayed. As an example, one of the images taken inside the Soloman Cutler, venue for the next, March 2018 meet is inserted into the Wiki page for the meet as "{{:meets:s_cutler_photo4.png?300|View from the mezzanine area towards the bar}}". That image file was uploaded to the generic Meets page rather than the page for the March meet which is why the path is missing ":March2018". Edit: 20 minutes sorting out and typing then Steamer beats me to the punch. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 03/02/2018 at 19:15 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply The following user said thank you: ajax103 |
