On Saturday 23rd June Swindon Panel Society will be unveiling their restored panel to the public in Didcot, Oxfordshire. SimSig have agreed to be in attendance, showing off our signalling simulations to the public. We will have half of a static carriage in which to set up laptops and demonstrate the simulations to the public. However, we have a problem. Several key SimSig members are also Swindon Panel members and their priority that day is to SPS, not to SimSig. What we need are willing and able organisers who will liaise with SPS before and during the event, ensure the SimSig side of things is organised and tidy, and interesting to the public. They will need to greet the public and explain what's happening. The public will not generally be playing, though consideration may be given to a laptop set aside for supervised hands-on how-to sessions. Please PM me if you are interested in being a host for this event, mentioning anything relevant for experience. Any entry fees for the SPS event will be waived and you'll get some sort of lunch voucher/compensation. Exact hours to be confirmed but at most you'd be needed for half a day (3-4 hours) and then you'd be free to enjoy the rest of the event. I think we will need hosts for Sunday too. If I can get enough hosts confirmed then I will put a sign-up for attending and playing (not hosting). Again, there would be free entry, though no food.
