Is a position defined north of Wigan NW that would allow a loco to move from one platform to another using signal WN12 in a timetabled move? Thinking of loco changes diesel/electric as occurred for some years and also run-round manoeuvres. Apologies if I am missing the blindingly obvious.
Not that I can see, I've raised Mantis 32936 as a feature request.
I havent added it to mantis yet, but there's also no valid paths at WBQ to use the north reverse GPLs to facilitate loco changes in 3 and 4.
Mantis 32620 was raised and is marked as resolved. Might be worth checking the version available to testers and (de)escalating as appropriate.

I routed an electric freight from Warrington BQ into Arpley Sidings as a test for a new timetable and received the message "4M38 has reached the end of electrification". This surprised me! At least as far back as 1990 and I think even when Warrington PSB ws opened, the three roads accessible directly in the Up direction were all electrified. Or am I missing something super-subtle in SimSig?

Electrically-hauled freight certainly ran in & out of Arpley when I was in the Brent (1983 - 85).

I have an issue regarding Warrington RMT, Train 1M02 Shieldmuir - Warrington Royal Mail has arrived into Platform 1 via Platform 2 as its 240m (12/325) where it forms 1S02 back to Shieldmuir. Upon arrival I cancel Signal 137 [P2] but the overlap after Signal 138 [P1] locking Point Set (P805) won't clear. I tried to clear the overlap but still there is this a sim issue or an issue on my behalf. Would it also be best to add Platform 2A1 along with 1A2 to the timetable editor?

Compliments to those involved in the recent update of WBQ. The addition of Garswood reversal facilities is much appreciated! One thing I'm still struggling with and it may be so blindingly obvious I'll be embarrassed. Simply, what's the sequence of locations required to schedule a train from Wigan North Western to Bickershaw Colliery?

Thanks in advance. A heritage (1977) timetable is in development....

Paths added for both of the above, and will be in an update.

I can't remember all timing points, but should be Springs Branch, followed by Bickershaw Collery. If it needs to be Springs Branch Junction as well, let me know and I'll adjust the path.

A couple of things I've noticed:

The first is to do with trains routed via the Up Goods at Warrington Bank Quay in the 1972-2009 era.
At signal 174, you get the message shown next to 6M25 in the Warrington 6M25 F2 file that should be attached. I've also included the timetable for 6M25 at Warrington, so you can see what is intended. You do get an error message to say that the train is wrongly routed, I was intending to abandon the timetable for 6M25 and see if you could get round it that way but the train decided to start detaching the loco. I will add an edit when I know further.

The second point is following on from electric trains using Arpley Sidings as mentioned further up this topic, should this also apply to Walton Traffic Sidings for the 1972-2009era, if you try to route an AC loco-hauled train in or out you get a wrong traction message. I did try to find a photo, if you have Paul Shannon's Speedlink book the front cover and page 59 of the book illustrate this.

I assume this is a timetable you've written yourself, and not one that's supplied with the simulation?

The train needs 'Thru line stop' at Bank Quay ticked, or it'll want to use a platform line. It also appears to be flagged as a regulating stop, I'm not sure if this is advised if the train also has activities.

The traffic sidings aren't electrified; only the MSC sidings and Arpley Yard.

Yes, it is a timetable I'm working on myself. I'd completely overlooked the through line stop at Warrington Bank Quay. THe train is booked to be regulated at Warrington Bak Quay in the WTT. I'll see what happens.

I've added the cover from Paul Shannon's Speedlink book from the internet. I presume the MGR's just visible to the left of the 90 are in the MSC Sdgs and that 90039 is in the Traffic Sidings or Walton Old Jn Sdgs (Quail/4: LMR 1990. Photo is dated 27 June 1991.

In SimSig, if it's flagged as a regulating stop, the train will continue through if the signal is clear and won't stop. I'm not sure how the activities will interact with this- you might want to test it and make sure it behaves correctly if 195 is clear when the train arrives in the loop. To be safe, set it as a normal stop, the train might still ring for departure early anyway.

I stand corrected; also dug up a clearer photo here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/71592768@N08/11821092434 Logged on Mantis, #34959

Do you know when the wires were removed, by any chance? A photo dated 2003 shows the yard without wires.

Unfortunately I don't. I would presume mid to late 90's after the end of Speedlink.

Is there a way of seeding a train at Newton-le-Willows towards Earlestown? I have 2F21 that seeds at the timetable start using Signal 538 to go towards Platform 2 at Earlestown. Unfortunately with the signal been quite a distance from the station it won't pick up its at Newton-le-Willows same happened the other way towards Parkside Jn at signal 533. Would be handy if the platform numbers were listed and platforms seeded in the list of seeds etc like Wigan P3.

But unlike Wigan, there is not a platform starter for the train to seed at. Have you tried using the seeding gap? Seed the train at the signal and then adjust the gap so it seeds in the platform.

To be slightly more accurate, the Wigan locations (and Warrington loco siding) are for seeding at the platform buffer stops, not the platform starter (seeding at the starter is possible as well, using the signal number as elsewhere).

An alternative is to seed at the signal before NLW and let the train pick up the stop there, or seed after NLW and omit the stop from the timetable.

In the timetable editor and locations, I have noticed Lowton Junction is missing between Newton-le-Willows and Golbourne Junction. Having said that not many trains actually use the location unless its a Notional activity for WTT. I have a handful of trains that need Lowton Jn for regulation purposes but doesn't affect the timetables.

It would seem timetables don't step up once they pass Ince Moss Junction from the Bamfurlong Junction area using the single line. Trains from St Helens Central step up as normal going south but not going towards St Helens Central.

I have provided a screenshot but not a snapshot save file as this is a WIP timetable.

I've logged 35908 to investigate, however without a savegame, or a full timetable schedule it's hard to narrow down exactly what has gone on.

In the attached save, the overlap for WN201 has not dropped - 1972-2009 era.

Is this correct?
