Title says it all basically. The timetable does not step up if Harrisons Sidings DGL is bypassed on an if-req SetDown stop. Unsure if it matters, but the train came from Hardendale Quarry.

I suspect this is because the mainline doesn't have a "platform" for the train to pass through.

I bet if you route it through the loop it doesn't stop and steps up.

Train 0C73 is booked via the loop although it has been used via the mainline towards Penrith. As Jc says run it via the loop and the timetable will step up to next location Penrith. This is something I couldn't work out when testing so just ran it through the loop as the mainline wouldn't step up the TT.

Same issue on Plumpton UGL.
Might also be a timetable bug because the location has no attached times, and conflicts with a train already in the loop. TT = Summer 2021, Train = 4M14/H15045

We've had this discussion before: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/53208

I think it affects many other sims as well; if no trains call on the main line and it's not a mandatory timing point for through trains, there is no need for a timing point on the main line except for trains skipping loops.

As if-req is a very recent addition, it wasn't taken into account when writing the sim. Though, arguably, the same thing happens if you have a TT without if-req and you tell the train to pass the location without stopping in F2.

This is certainly not limited to Carlisle, I believe Hungerford loop on Westbury does the same. Now that there are TTs with optional stop in them, it has more prominent, so it would be good to hear what the developers think about it. Nevertheless I think many sims would need to be modified if you want to make optional stops possible in all loops.

I used 4M14 as a test train of sorts, it seems I didn't remove Plumpton from the timetable which I've now removed. Believe it or not 4M14 is expected to run straight from Carlisle to Lancaster non stop if it runs on time or early. Placing it into Eden Valley to allow trains to pass is ok it's just not marked in the WTT.

All my sims are coded to accept the location on the main line or the loop. In fact, browsing through other developers' sim data, I'm struggling to find anything beyond Carlisle and Westbury to substantiate your claim that "many" sims would need modifying. If you would like to name specific examples rather than a broad sweeping statement then perhaps we can dive into and fix anything in supported sims.

Carlisle is also very old, the original developer has long gone, it's free, and I doubt we'll be making any changes anytime soon.

Thanks for clearing up the situation and I'm sorry for generalising too much - they are both sims that I have played a lot and they include many freight services that need to be looped (or not). They were also not obviously related to me as Westbury is even older Carlisle (its first release, at least,) and not in the same geographical area. Good to know that this is not the standard.
