Hi Im doing some of the timetables on my local line - Leeds Northwest - as I live in Shipley Anyway Im doing the timetable Leeds Northwest 01-08-21 SuO and have come up with a problem 1Z40 enters from Hellifild and arrives at Skipton Plat 3 at 11:41 then changes to 1Z42 and sits at Plat 3 until departs towards Hellifield at 12:05 Also 1Y18 enters Shipley Down Line for Hellifield (Nottingham-Carlisle) and scheduled to arrive Skipton at 11:50 and depart 11:52 but also on Plat 3 How can 1Y18 carry on from Skipton Plat 3 if a unit is already on Plat 3? I doubled checked 1Z40 and 1Z42 and both definitely say plat 3 as wondered if should be Plat 2. os should they be any shunt moves for 1Z40/1Z42 Dave Log in to reply |

It's worth remembering that the WTT and other schedules aren't always perfect and sometimes contain errors like the one you've found which signallers have to work around. I'd suspect that 1Z40 used P3 so it could form 1Z42 directly (I assume given the date this is the 'Staycation Express' HST?), while 1Y18 used P4. If a reversing EMU is also booked into P4 at that time, it would also be replatformed to 2 or 1 as required.
