The November 18th meet will be held at the AC Hotel by Marriott Manchester City Centre (NOT the Salford Quays location). This will be in a conference room at the hotel and we have the room nearly all day. We will confirm the actual times soon. Food and drink is available within the hotel. In addition, there are some take-aways and restaurants within walking distance. However, such food/drink may NOT be brought into the Marriott - please consume such food off the Marriott property. There is car parking immediately outside the hotel in two pay and display car parks, and there are more car parks nearby. You are responsible for your own parking charges. Manchester Victoria station is around a 10 minute walk away, with Piccadilly station just under 20 minutes away by foot. A couple of tram stops are nearby. Since COVID restrictions were lifted, we have found that it is now extremely difficult to find venues with free or low room cost hire, or a reasonable minimum spend, on Saturdays. There is a room hire fee for this venue, but a generous donor means there is no entry fee for you to attend. Please note that absolutely no outside food or drink is allowed at this venue as they serve their own food and drink in the building. We had complaints from our last venue about people bringing their own Thermos and sandwiches. Remember, venues we visit are businesses trying to make money from the sale of food and drinks. We appreciate your understanding. We have a special rate if you wish to stay at that hotel overnight. Click here to make a booking. This is a fixed rate: promotional rates, reward rates, or other booking sites may be cheaper. We will have a special thank you for those attending the meet and offering their laptop for public use (even if we ultimately don't need to use it). This will be a coupon good for a discount off the Doncaster Station sim, to be used within 30 days. |
Please note that the event time is that of the event's timezone, not necessarily your timezone

I have been interested in attending an event for awhile, may not be able to make this particular one but will keep an eye out. Is it just a case of bringing a laptop with SimSig installed? Many Thanks. |

You don't need to bring a laptop, and if you do but don't have SimSig installed, someone usually has a USB key with the files needed. The organisers do like a rough count of how many laptops are coming to plan what simulations will be running. |

Not been to one of these before, but being in my home city on a free day would seem daft not to visit! I have a laptop that I can bring for myself, should I tick the 'laptop for public use' box? What is the arrangement if a larger payware sim is chosen that I do not have installed? Cheers |

If you are happy for it to be used by other SimSiggers then yes, if not don't tick it but still feel free to bring it along. If you need a license or simulations installing we handle this on the day for everyone. |

I have now booked some train tickets and added my name to the list. Travelling there and back on the day but I only have to come from Nuneaton. See you soon. Calvin |

Not been to one of these before, but it seems silly to miss it since I'm based quite close. Is there anything I should know as a newcomer? One question I have: are times strict? Or is it more of a come-and-go type of thing? Not sure I can make it for the whole day as I have other (albeit flexible) plans on the day too. |

@j.a.g First of all, welcome. It's only my second time too so it's pretty cool. While it's nice to have you there for the whole event, it can be dip in and dip out too. Some people can only do some parts of the day so it all depends what you can commit, but it's a nice time throughout, so feel free to be there for whatever, whenever, really. |

@Administrators - Please remove my booking. Will try and drop in from 12, but work haven't been able to cover my job on Saturday so i've got a shift from roughly 1530 ish. Will drop in but will go about 2hrs in to work. |
