Title
Hunts Cross 1987 - V1.1
Description

Timetable based on WTTs CE & CF for summer 1987. The service pattern is that which operated between 1979 and 1989, as modified following the 1983 extension of Merseyrail's DC system from Garston to Hunts Cross. All three signalboxes are relaxed outside the rush-hour, but under pressure when the commuters travel. Use of the mechanical signalling option is essential for maximum stress!

Traffic makes use of the carriage sidings at Warrington and Hunts Cross to turn back trains. When the real-life timetable was written, the layout at Warrington Central was a traditional pattern without a facing crossover or signal permitting departure from platform 2 toward Manchester. These were provided at some point in 1987/1988 after a resignalling exercise caused by Widnes East box's elimination. Unless you wish to cheat, the facing crossover east of Central should be "clipped" normal.

There are also rush hour services between Manchester and Irlam which reverse at Glazebrook East Jn and may - depending on train running - need to use the loop there. There is even freight to/from Glazebrook. Look out too for rush-hour EMU turnbacks at Liverpool South Parkway (Garston in 1987).

Please note that Glazebrook East's crossover (16 points) cannot be reversed if a train has been accepted from Warrington Central. Also that in manual mode trains reversing through 16 points cause the up block to go to "Train On Line" which needs to be cancelled before an up train can be accepted.

The various turn-backs will also keep you busy with headcodes. Those are duplicated at times: you WILL need the train list screen to keep track of what is happening.

Fudges/ Work-arounds:
===================
1) DC EMUS call at Liverpool South rather than the correct location of Garston (200 metres away). Using Garston causes a stream of error messages in SimSig.
2) A working operated MThO each way between Allerton depot and Kirkdale via Hunts Cross p2. This is omitted as SimSig appears unable to handle both the 08+507 drop combination and shunt manoeuvres at Hunts Cross.
3) 6M18TO/ 6E67TO (run as required) are not timetabled as the necessary programming for 6M18 to access Glazbrook MSC sidings is missing from the simulation.
4) Irlam turnback trains work to/from Glazebrook station, rather than 16 signal reverse as the necessary programming is missing from the simulation.

All the above will be remedied if fixes become available.

Note to other timetable developers -
Timing load indications in the WTT are unreliable. Check stopping times to verify if stock is "heritage" DMU or Pacer.
