Hours of operation 00.00-23.59: 707 trains in timetable, varying by day
Welcome to 1977. Warrington PSB is in its infancy, coping admirably with the recently electrified Crewe-Glasgow route, including its heavy overnight traffic.
Freight services are frequent on almost every route and will require careful regulating. Many will change between diesel and electric locos at Wigan North Western or Warrington Bank Quay and crew changes are common at several locations, including Springs Branch Jn and Earlestown.
Passenger services are steady, but not necessarily at regular intervals and still largely reflect patterns established by the pre-grouping railways. The connections at Wigan were provided solely for ECS and parcels trains and are used only for those purposes, plus a single freight train. The main innovation at this time was Merseyside PTE's extension of services to Garswood, with DMU reversals there.
Further information on this simulation is provided in the "general" tab of the timetable. Please read it before using the timetable!
