Operating hours 05.00-01.00. 523 trains in timetable, varying by day.
Welcome to 1977! The timetable is very different from the 2020s with heavy levels of freight across the territory, but especially to the chemical belt stretching from Ellesmere Port to Ince.
Passenger traffic is variable. One or two trains per hour in each direction on most routes, with rush hour extras on the route to Manchester Oxford Road via Mouldsworth and the Wirral lines. The route from Hooton to Helsby has particularly high levels of both passenger and freight, supplemented with light engine workings to/ from the depot at Birkenhead (Mollington St).
You'll be kept busy with regulating decisions for the single-line section between Mouldsworth and Mickle Trafford and on the Hooton-Helsby route. This timetable is more complicated than it looks!
Note - this timetable MUST be run in 2018 mode. In 1977, the Halton chord and Wrexham line were still double-track throughout.
Please read the further notes under the "General" tab of the timetable before operating it. You are likely to encounter operating difficulties if you ignore them.
