I'm currently writing a timetable for Plymouth and I have two trains join at Plymouth platform 8 which then moves to platform 3 as ecs, where the train then changes to a different timetable for it's onward service. The train when it arrives to the platform, instead of changing to the next service, doesn't change from 5C54 to 2C54 and just states in the train list window that it is at buffer stops. The train is fully in the platform area and the length of the train is less than the platform area, so i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong? Any one got any ideas? Log in to reply |

Can you attach a save game of the train in that "waiting" state.

Dev's/Testers I don't know if this will be of any help but I think there maybe an issue with the length of P3 in what registars as the platform. I tried various times to get 5C54 (length 78m) in to P3 but it would not registar as being there, however I reduced the length of the train to 70m and it worked. So I set about testing various lengths to see what worked. Any train length of 75m or under works as it should ie, train changes to next working as it should. However I found that if the train length was 76m or over, train reports in F2 "At Buffer Stops" having looked at wiki for Plymouth platform lengths it says P3 is 79m Last edited: 24/09/2017 at 14:54 by MarkC Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Mantis 17980. Timetable planning rules and Sectional Appendix show the bay as being 78m, so the train should (just!) fit.

Does a train not normally stop short of the buffers unless told otherwise ? 'At buffers' might be 'as close as I want to go'. I vaguely recall a similar issue in Edinburgh & Glasgow QS Might be worth trying setting a stop position of FX=0 in case that squeezes an extra metre or two in? TT I'm working on has a number of long freightliners stopping for crew change and I've had to set the stopping position as FX -5m so the loco stops just shy of the signal and the back end just crawls beyond the fouling point. By experiment, I think the default gap on the sim I am using seems to be 7m. I don't know whether that is generic SimSig or sim specific. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Cheers all. Just to save the hassle and make it easier for everyone, i'll just chop 2m off of the trains to make them fit! Which leads me to my next question, there is no folder in the downloads for Plymouth timetables, I'm guessing this is something I cannot do myself, so could someone do it for me please?
