Errors when starting simulation 15/10/2017 at 10:04 #102269

Hi,

I've tried to start Cowlairs with diffrent timetables and I always get these 6 errors when starting up. In my opinion it looks like some entry points are missing.

I've tried to update, though for Cowlairs there's no update....

These are the errors:

System date/time: 10/15/2017 10:54:57 AM
Loading cowlairs from C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Simulations\Cowlairs.sim
Simulation: cowlairs

No matter what timetable I start, errors are all the same.

Thanks for your help!

What version of the loader are you running?

If it is not 4.6.4 please download the system files from the website. Install them. Open the loader and press check for updates.

Simsig loader is V4.6.4....

I'll try to redownload en reinstall.

Ok,

I did a redownload and reinstall of system files, restarted my computer and ran the updater. Other then updates of system files there were NO updates for simulations.

Unfortunately this didn't solve my problem.

Can I just delete Cowlairs and would it reinstall with an update?

I also get those error messages on start up of the sim, and it seems to happen in all eras of the sim.

Loader version 4.6.4
Cowlairs Version 4.2.1

It's nothing to do with entry points.

It's to do with berth stepping and shouldn't affect your play except that in one specific location the train describer won't step correctly.

However, the fact that nobody else has reported it suggests you've somehow got a corrupt version of the file. I would delete the Cowlairs.sim file from your machine and then run an update.

It'll only affect TD stepping for trains signalled via CQ251 to Platform 4 (I think - or 5) in the pre EGIP eras.
That's a bug I'm aware of (and have fixed) though I thought I'd made the error after the release while working on a different TD stepping issue at GLQ.

Give me a few days to sort out the other issue.

Ok. I removed the Cowairs.sim file. The updater installed the "new" version of Cowlairs. Problem is still there. Same 6 errors......

I was wrong about nobody reporting it and, I see, Peter accepts it's a known issue. Just play the sim and ignore the error - it will only affect berth stepping in one specific situation and nothing else.

Those routes are only used in pre-EGIP so can't see why the TDs won't step. Should be CQ251 in the post.

I don't know how it works but all I can say is on sim start-up in EGIP era I get those same 6 error messages.

OK I see; you will because it's an error but it has absolutely no effect in EGIP and limited in the other eras as described.
