Hello, recently I bought my first bit of payware. I have multiple PC's at multiple (Normally 2) diffrent places. Because these are diffrent computers it means I have to unlock it and add it again, which is fine. The problem stands where you can only do it every week or so, which is far too long! How would I solve this issue? Log in to reply |

I have on mine un-allocated from one pc and allocated to another, then unallocated from the second back to the first all in the same day Last edited: 22/10/2017 at 19:06 by MarkC Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Remember to unallocate the license from the computer you're playing on at the end of a session, then it's available to be allocated to a different PC when you play again. This is done using the 'Unallocate License from this machine' button in the License Manager. Allocating/Unallocating occurs instantly. Unlocking licenses should only be done where, for whatever reason, you can't access the PC that the license is allocated to for a substantial amount of time. This requires an admin to grant the unlock request. Unlocks shouldn't, therefore, be requested frequently, and may also indicate abuse of the system. This is all explained in this Wiki page: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:license_manager "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." Ah darn. I used the online version because I already shut down the other PC. Oh well, at least it's only 1 time I'll have to wait a while haha. Thanks!

Can you not use remote desktop (RDP) to connect to the 'main' PC? I used to use no-ip.org which has a piece of software installed on the 'main' pc so that its URL is always 'accessible'... This lets you call this eg home-pc-mak47.no-ip.org. You would have to enable remote desktop on the main pc, set your firewall to allow the connection (change the RDP port to something other than 3389 - so you would connect as home-pc-mak47.no-ip.org:<PORT> Log in to reply |
