Hello! Figured I'd introduce myself. As a kid I loved everything to do with planes and trains; luckily I never grew up! I have been working for the past 1.5/2 years as a flight instructor, without much time for hobbies... Lately though I've been finding more free time having moved on to flying a CE-525 for a small-ish on demand operator. This had lead me to taking up scale modeling and video games (mostly simulators) again. I faintly remembered playing with something very similar to SimSig when I was a kid. It had come on a multi disk set in a CompUSA, I think. After quite a bit of searching around I found this community! So far I've only played maybe around 50 hours. Mostly on Royston, Aston, and the Wembley sub. So far Wembley Suburban is probably my personal favorite, although I don't see how anyone could make the included time table run on time! I'm very much looking forward to improving my skills and learning more complex simulations. It does seam like teamwork will be very helpful moving into sims that dont even fit on the screen! I'm open to any input on going into multiplay, and suggestions for good sims to check out for single playing as well! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: VInce |

Welcome onboard RC. Teamwork does indeed play a huge part in things when doing multiplayers, especially on the bigger sims. Hello and welcome to SimSig! Potential stepping stones from the smaller simulations are Westbury and SwinDid (Swindon/Didcot), and if you want to experience a busier, more dense, layout then Liverpool Street or Fenchurch Street are good (the latter is a £5 'payware' sim). Southampton is also a good intermediate level sim but it is a standalone .exe rather than run through the loader, and hence lacks some of the newer SimSig features. To prepare for multiplayer sessions I recommend joining a couple of sessions and just watching what happens before you 'take the plunge' and jump on a panel, most hosts will be happy to let you do that, or maybe you could take one of the smaller, easier, panels that can be found on many sims. Also, if you haven't yet I recommend reading through the Wiki and user manuals, as I learnt a lot from them. Hope that helps! Awesome, thanks for the suggestions guys. I've read alot of the wiki and feel pretty good in most situations. Are there any multis in the near future where I could help out or chain in somewhere? Someplace that lets me get my feet wet in that theater, without being able to mess up too much? haha Log in to reply |
