Couple more that would be of interest and just a little like yours. Carlisle PSB (New Loader Version) - In the works at the moment... Preston PSB - 1980s-90s Layout and the current 2017 Layout with the extension layout to Blackpool Post-Electrification (May 2018) Warrington PSB Winsford SB - Controls From Crewe Coal Yard, Winsford, Hartford, Hartford Jn, Hartford CLC, Acton Bridge & Weaver Jn. Crewe PSB Stafford Post 2016 Norton Bridge Layout Change (Now under Rugby SCC) There is a long list but I won't keep nagging, I must say well done to the developers for producing some grand SimSig Content. The 5 boxes (Salwick, Kirkham North Jn, Poulton No.3, Carleton Crossing and Blackpool No.2) are closing during this possession- I don't know when the formal closing date is, but after this Friday they won't be signalling booked trains. Preston Fylde Jn-> Blackpool South closed until 28th January 2018, Kirkham North Jn-> Blackpool North closed until 25th March 2018. Control is going to Ashburys ROC as far as I know, not Preston. If the area is ever simulated, the Blackpool line on its own would make a good stand-alone beginner simulation. Some great areas on your wish list. Maybe one of them will make a debut at the forthcoming meet ? I'd add Leicester to your list to fill in the MML missing link. With KX being my perennial favourite I'd also love to see another update to this sim to include the new Canal Tunnel so that future timetables including GN Thameslink services can be used. Steamer in post 102714 said:[quote=HST125Scorton;post=102713]That is all correct indeed final train out of Blackpool North is 2358 5N91 Blackpool North to Blackburn LMD on 10th November 2017, once it reaches Preston at 0021 the line officially closes at 00:30 on 11th November 2017 with Carleton Crossing coming down between 11th and 13th November. I'm with you on the idea of the area simulated as a Stand-Alone Simulation, Poulton-le-Fylde been my local station to commute to and from work. That been said I'm hoping Preston PSB will be simulated one day in the future along with Blackpool on it's own. Aaron (AJRO) | Timetable Writer Log in to reply |

On that matter I remember at one meet (a Derby one IIRC) someone saying they were going to work on Manchester Pic and one other saying they were going to work on Doncaster. I think I will have a guess and put Doncaster and Manchester Pic forward as possible simulations for Saturday as well. Dave Log in to reply |

Since the Southampton sim had an edge at Eastleigh, surely a Basingstoke sim would be a logical choice connecting from Southampton Airport to the Reading area and the Salisbury area to east of Farnborough. Possibly also to Portsmouth sim via Eastleigh. Other simulations cover a larger area than this. Just my penny's worth.

Apart from some grandfathered historical oddities like King's Cross having parts of it split off into Royston/Cambridge and Peterborough because the original paged sim ran out of space, or Westbury including the Newbury panel that actually belongs to Reading, most (all?) recent sims have been pretty faithful in keeping to the prototypical boundaries as far as large(r)-scale signalling centres are concerned, though. Besides, the original idea was to replace the original Southampton sim (which only covers part of the area controlled by Eastleigh PSB) with a sim that covers the whole of Eastleigh and I'd guess that's still the plan if that sim ever sees the light of day. Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.
