In the Marylebone sim, despite the text box in 'Messages' in the F3 window showing 'WindowsDing.wav' as the selected sound for 'Train Entering System', the sound that plays is the much less audible 'ding.wav'. I have changed the requested sound to a couple of other .wav files in the C/Windows/Media folder but still the sound played is ding.wav. Has anyone else found they cannot change the 'Train Entering System' sound in the Marylebone sim, or any other sim for that matter? Regards, Phil. Log in to reply |

Simsig has two different sounds/messages for trains entering, one based on the train "spawning", and another based on the TD entering an approach berth (which is more realistic). Annoyingly, the latter is only sporadically available across sims, and it's not clear which those are until you try. Are you perhaps changing one setting while Simsig is actually using the other?

In fact, I can't see a means of changing the spawn and TD approach sounds. I agree with your point about hearing the Train Entering System annunciator when spawning with the TD following a few mins later (Up Main at Grantham in the Peterborough sim is one that readily springs to mind), I find that annoying too. And of course when chained to a neighbouring simulation, "train entering simulation" will usually happen at a different point than when running in standalone mode.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Log in to reply |

"TD berth occupation/change" is in some newer sims which is the approach sounds. Might be worth noting in Mantis (for those with access) if any sims are missing the newer berth occupation events.
