Just to double check were you running SimSig as admin? c0000005 is a standard access violation. I would need to see the dump file in order to have more details on the fault. you can send it in PM

I was running without elevation, and as far as I can see there was no dump, the application threw the exception and immediately closed without any message (except to eventlog)

Tomorrow when I get on the main pc I should be able to get the exact place. If I remember right event viewer points you in the direction of the log but not directly there. True however the module that raised the crash appears to be user32.dll which handles the drawing of windows and controls. The Report.wer file that is always generated appears to contain the additional information to an extent about the crash. this sould be in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER under reportarchive or report queue SamTDS - STDS | My comments are my opinions and interpretations and do not reflect on the wonderfull SimSig team.
