Great new SimSig !!. Many thanks to Clive and testers for the hard work. Just a quick query - Will there be a retro option available for when the Bakerloo Line went through to Watford Junction ?. I have fond memories of riding on the 1938 Tube Stock on the Bakerloo as this was the last line to have these trains in service if I remember correctly.

To be accurate that would also require simulation of the 1930s "New Lines" signalling. Although Clive is already well up on that, it is very different from what's there now, certainly not a mere variant, and simulating it would be a decidedly non-trivial task.

Hi There, I have noticed a small bug. Signal 67 at Bushey reverts to red before the train has passed it. Is there a secret overlap? Aubrey Log in to reply |

As Keith has pointed out, the signalling was completely different in those days. While I'm not scared of that, I don't have anywhere near enough signalling data available to me to simulate it. It would be possible to add an "extended fourth rail" option - there is talk about bringing the Bakerloo back to Watford in the future. It would also be possible to add the Croxley Green branch - I do have the data for this, but didn't want to delay the release. Log in to reply |

Aubrey: there's various places on that section where there are two (or even three or four) separate track circuits on the ground but they're indicated as a single one on the display. If a signal is on the first of the two, it will go back to red when the train hits the second one, giving the effect you're seeing. So, not a bug. Log in to reply |

Thanks for the answers Keith and Clive. I also seem to remember turnback sidings at Queens Park for trains that terminated there so I take it these are now not used or in situ ?

There are some nice pictures and information on Harrow No 2 box on 'The Signal Box' site. http://www.signalbox.org/gallery/lm/harrow2.htm Log in to reply |

The turnback sidings at Queen's Park are still there and still in use, but they're under LUL signalling control, not Wembley Suburban. So such trains don't show at all. Trains only appear in the simulation (and the real panel) if they're routed towards the junction, not the sidings.

I have lots of information about the old signalling on the DC lines, including the official instructions. See here for some of it. But this is nowhere near enough to allow me to write a simulation.

The abandoned line from Watford to Croxley Green runs close by to the Network Rail training centre. This would be nice to have on a retro sim. More information here http://www.abandonedstations.org.uk/Croxley_Green_line_1.html Log in to reply |

Ah I see. Thought there had to be a reason why they weren't on the Sim. Thanks again Clive and Andy. Many happy boyhood memories of riding around on the Underground all day and sometimes in the evening !!. I would always go on the District & Bakerloo lines simply because they had at the time the oldest stock then in service I think (R on the District and 1938 on the Bakerloo)
