Hi again!

Regardless of what type of signal - whether "Auto Call" has been enabled on a controlled signal or otherwise, none of the routes are dying after any trains have passed through and out of their sections, the only way to do this is to "Right-Click" them and get them to drop.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
Many thanks once again,
Matt.

The sim may have a TORR (Train Operated Route Release) option on start up. Routes will release automatically when this option is enabled. Not all signalling installations are/were equipped with TORR and signallers were expected to cancel used routes themselves.

What you describe is TORR (Train Operated Route Release) being turned off: then you have to cancel routes yourself. This is realistic for some areas that use older or simplified equipment in real life. In many sims you can choose whether you want it on or off when you start a game. Which sim are you playing?

I am on the Westbury Sim. Never had a problem with it before, hence why I am so perplexed by this one.

Thanks for your speedy reply,
Matt

On Westbury TORR is an option on starting the sim indeed. Though Westbury is (unless you play a Project X timetable) so quiet that you usually have plenty of time to cancel your routes.

Thank you for you response, could you assist me in finding it please?
Presently I am going (in the loader):
Start a New Simulation > Westbury > Westbury Weekday 25 05 2016 (04 30 Start V1.1) > Standard > Start.

Ah, in Westbury, this seems to be an undocumented difference between the Perfect/Beginner and Standard scenarios. TORR is not provided in the Standard scenario.

It's also possible to edit the save file if you want TORR, but none of the other easy mode features.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

My solution is to start the sim paused in 'Beginner' mode (which does offer TORR) but then go into Show>Options>Failures and up the likelihood of the various failures. That way you can have TORR and failures.
