No route to Dart Valley from Paignton P1?? 29/05/2019 at 21:14 #118540

I’m playing the Exeter 4 Day September 2014 Timetable, Loader 4.12, when just after midday on day 3, train 1Z27 is scheduled to enter the Dart Valley line from Paignton platform 1.
I’ve unlocked the Lever Frame and set the points but when I try to set the route, I get a message stating that there is ‘no route between selected signals’ (see attached screenshot). As far as I can see, you can only click on signal PN7 and the exit arrow for Dart Valley.

Could somebody please explain what is going on. Have I done something wrong or am I missing something?

Sorry about the dull colours. It's my after daylight hours anti blue light filter doing it's thing.

Just click the < at the end of the line, no? That's how exit routes are normally called.

the manual clarifies this.

there are no signalled routes to/from the DVR and drivers need to be talked past the signal.

I’ve already done that, but although it’s the usual procedure, in this case it doesn’t set the route.

I did look at the list of the phone calls that have to be made, but for some reason my brain didn’t connect ‘Paignton (DVR) with the Dart Valley Line.
How stupid is that!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You can authorise under one of the f2 options, or wait for the driver to call you.

Hi,

I suggest you read the Exeter manual which says.....

Paignton (PN)

Paignton panel covers the Paignton branch.

A phone call must be placed to the Dart Valley Railway (listed under "Place call..." as "Paignton(DVR)" before a train is sent there.

There are no signalled routes on to the DVR. You must operate the Ground Frame and authorise a train to pass PN7 or PN9. B53 will operate automatically when GF is set correctly.

I did read the manual but it was some time ago and my brain isnn't able to remember all of the details.
As I said in my post above, I made the stupid mistake of not recognising that DVR in the telephone list was in fact the Dart Valley Railway. I must have been daydreaming at the time.
