I don’t know how well it reflects historical practice, but Swithland (GCR) has a shunt-ahead signal in the Up direction, released by ‘line clear’ from Rothley unless the absence switch at the latter is at ‘closed’ (to allow Swith to shunt without needing Rothley open).
