I have just purchased the WJ simulation hoping that it would be quite easy! Half an hour into the simulation and I've come across a problem with 1J84 Watford Yard to St.Albans. The problem is that once the train arrives at Watford South Jn and is given authority to proceed to platform 11, it just disappears never to be seen again! I have noted the comments elsewhere about this train but having digested them, I'm still no better off. Anybody able to help? Terry. Terry Log in to reply |

There is no instruction in the WJ manual for moving a train from Watford Yard to the St.Albans branch so I used the instructions to get on the branch from the Down Slow line with modifications. On acceptance of 1J84 from Watford Yard, I used the ground frame for Watford Yard 4002 and pulled levers 1 and 2 and also 4 (which presumably allows train to proceed towards Watford Yard neck). Up to this point all ok and 1J84 arrives on track circuit prior to permission to proceed onto branch line. I normalised No.4 lever and gave permission for train to enter the St.Albans branch when requested. After this, track circuit cleared and I presumed train would show up again at Watford No.11 platform; it did not and disappeared from the simulation! I appreciate that unless you have the WJ simulation before you, this will make little sense but I have uploaded a picture of layout which may help.  Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Just as a supplement to the above problem, the return working of 1J84 from Watford Suburban lines to the down fast shows up as it should! It is just the outward working from Watford Yard to St.Albans and return that is missing! Terry. Terry Log in to reply |

The problem has been resolved with the help of Mickev who advised of the following: The problem you are having with 1J84 is the timing point (Watford South Junction) the train is only half way out of the yard.So when you authorise to proceed,it goes back in to the yard never to been seen again.The timing point needs to have a edit.Instead of Watford South Junction you need to edit its tt to show Watford Neck or WJ2001/WJ2009.You can set the ground frame 4002 as per manual.
