In the Gloucester manual it states that it easy to forget about the Horton Road crossing. How right that is. I've just noticed that I have Seven, yes SEVEN, messages telling me of 'Excessive delay to road users' Grrrrr.

As a matter of interest, does each notification incurr a 10 point penalty?

LOL. In real life the signal box is right next to the crossing so you would probably have been alerted by the loud hooting of the motorists!

And in reality, I'd suspect that you'd remember to raise the crossing when canceling the route after the train

I've been very careful since that episode. Only had one further warning

Good photos. Is there one that actually shows the crossong from the signal box windows?

There is a Barrier raise button on the panel so the signaller can put the barriers straight up without having to walk the window

These should set the context. The controls are quite a few feet away from the section of the panel controlled by the Gloucester station signaller, but it's impossible to be unaware of the passage of a train.
